At Yagwa Tech Solutions, we believe that technology should be a bridge to opportunity, not a barrier. Through our flagship Community Empowerment program, we are actively tackling the digital divide in Rusinga Ward, Homa Bay County.

The Rusinga Digital Empowerment Initiative (RDEI) is more than just a training program ?it is a strategic intervention designed to transition youth from traditional, low-income activities like fishing into the high-growth global digital economy.

The Challenge

Every year, hundreds of bright students in Rusinga graduate from school only to face high unemployment due to a lack of marketable digital skills and limited access to ICT infrastructure. This results in a growing population of educated but economically inactive youth.

Our Solution: The Digital Training & Innovation Hub

We are looking to establish a state-of-the-art Digital Hub equipped with modern computers, high-speed internet, and sustainable solar backup. Our structured curriculum seeks to empower 200+ youths annually through three key levels:

• Basic: Computer fundamentals and Microsoft Office suite.
• Intermediate: Graphic design, social media management, and online collaboration.
• Advanced: Web design, WordPress, digital marketing, and professional freelancing on platforms like Upwork and Fiverr.

Measurable Impact

Our goal is to create a sustainable ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship:

Skill Acquisition: Transforming novices into skilled digital professionals.

Economic Independence: Aiming for 30% of participants to earn an income online within six months of completion.

Community Growth: Reducing youth unemployment and diversifying the local economy in Homa Bay.
